Life And Legacy

On February 18th, 1934, Audrey Geraldine Lorde was born in the New York City neighborhood of Harlem to Caribbean parents.

As a black lesbian, Lorde was an outsider in several communities. This position enabled her to write about her experiences from a sympathetic point of view, which in turn helped society to understand the intersectionality that comes with being a member of several marginalized groups.
