It was a well-known foundational law in general physics. The parity had always assumed symmetry the left and the right. Yang and Lee states opposing hypothesis but widely disagreed.

How?
In 1950, there are only few labs can cool material to an absolute zero,so she have to conducted her experiment in The National Bureau of Standards in Washington. She averaged slept 4 hours a day in the following nine months and she had to travel between Columbia and Washington.

In 1957, Yang and Lee, who brought up the hypothesis won Nobel Prize for physics. Wu carried out the experiment to proof the hypothesis, but she is not included. .
