Early Life

When she was in China, she attended the all-girls school that established by her father. Later, she has been accepted by National Central University as the top student of her class. After she graduated, her supervisor Gu Jing-Wei, encourage her to get a Ph.D. as she did. 1936 She completed her Ph.D. in University of California, Berkeley.

Manhattan Project

She worked Manhattan Project at Columbia University. She created a process to separate uranium metal into U-235 and U-238 isotopes by gaseous diffusion, which required replicated at a grand scale at the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge. She also improves the Geiger counters that used for measuring nuclear radiation levels.
